About the work

Anna Karenina is one of the tragic women from the artist's series that he has been creating since 2010, including Maria Callas, Anna Pavlova, Ophelia and the latter Anna Karenina based on the book by Leo Tolstoy.

Anna is painted entirely as the artist visualized it, as he felt. The tragedy and sense of loss, in a hint of melancholy, in all its beauty.

Louis painted very few portraits. A few more will follow from his collection. This painting is framed in a wide frame and varnished.
